Construction Innovation: Not for the Faint of Heart

David Bleiman is CEO of Rutherford & Chekene (R&C) structural and geotechnical engineers headquartered in San Francisco. A structural engineer with 30 years of experience, he has been an innovator in the practice. Dave was the ICF Kaiser Director of Development and Implementation of the Kaiser Bolted Bracket, a patented system for repair of damaged moment frames that is now approved by AISC and OSHPD. Dave began R&C’s transition to BIM in 2005 and a few short years later, participated in the development of the firm’s proprietary software to improve the efficiency of Revit Structure. Dave has played a leading role bringing this product to market. The software is currently being expanded for different versions and platforms of Revit.
